Two hours to feel like yourself again

⭐️ Space is limited • Beginner friendly • Drums provided, or bring your own.

From the musician behind Rusted Root's "Send Me On My Way" and the TEDx talk "How to Trick Your Brain Into Falling Asleep" (7M+ views), Jim Donovan brings 30+ years of rhythm-based practice to a single evening.

Step into an immersive two hours where drumming, sound, and simple connective practices quiet the mind, recharge your energy, and bring you back to yourself.

No musical experience is needed. This isn't about performing or getting it "right" — it's about feeling better, opening up, and leaving with tools you can use long after the night is over.

What Happens in the Room

  • You arrive and get a drum. No experience, no setup — just sit down and you're in.
  • Jim guides you through beginner-friendly rhythm exercises. You'll hear the room loosen up fast — people miss a beat, laugh, and keep going.
  • The group plays together. You're free to just be yourself here — nobody's tracking whether you got it "right."
  • You close with a calming practice. A guided wind-down that trains your body to slow down, not just your mind.

What You’ll Experience

  • Group Drumming & Creative Expression
Feel the joy of rhythm in beginner-friendly drumming circles that unleash creativity and connection.

  • Brain-Building Rhythm Exercises

“Using Jim's techniques, I take more notice of my breathing patterns, or lack thereof. I feel my spirits lifted and my creative ideas flowing every time we are part of one of your sessions. I feel more connected to each day and find satisfaction in disrupting some of my rituals and habits. Love your work and how you connect with people and uplift everyone in your presence.” -Ralph M., MD ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“It is better than one can imagine! Jim is an outstanding teacher - very welcoming and inviting. He makes learning easy. He is very generous with the teachings and genuinely wants us to succeed. I make it a point to attend any of his events I can.”—Connie L. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“The best part of the program with Jim was the warm, genuine connections we all made over a relatively short period of time. Jim's style of teaching instantly puts you at ease. And, it was SO MUCH FUN!! Thanks Jim for a fantastic drumming experience!” —Mary Ellen M. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“From the beginning of the training Jim made us feel very welcome and comfortable. At first I was concerned about my lack of percussion experience. That went away rather quickly as Jim provided us with the tools to "smile and keep going". He provides an environment that infectiously brings people together and opens their minds and hearts to learning.” —Heather O. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
